Books have come along away over time, are now ordered in categories from kids to adults. Depending on violence level and content, Huckleberry Finn is a novel that tells a quest story. It can be a good reason to read this book to gain a little knowledge on American culture and history. How ever it can give a bad influence to teen youth.
Huckleberry Fin is a book that set youth off track on their reading skills. Why, because there are to many misspelled words and bad grammar. Huckleberry’s setting takes place in the South during slavery times. The author Mark Twain tries to convince that accent from those times in the South. Children reading that will affect temporarily their reading skills as mentioned before. Schools today are diverse with some children just learning English as their second language, it would be risky for them to read this story with such strong grammar and accents.
The books of today should be categorized the same as movies. Huckleberry Finn is an adult actions and adult content. The book is not good influence on kids. So to say kids are drinking, killing, and running away. For example in Chapter 7 it is stated “ Well, last I pulled out some hair, and blooded the ax good and stock it on the ax corner.” The book could easily be rated r it is highly mature.
To contradict the story could be good for kids with different nationalities trying to learn the American culture and what we stand and believe in. The story is taken around slavery time, someone could understand in detailed passages how slaves got their freedom given to them either by force or some other way. It can show lots of negative behavior but it could be taught to adults who need to understand the fine line of beating, and child abuse. In Conclusion I think Huckleberry Finn should not be taught in school in should only be available for adults.
